Man, I haven't seriously updated in forever. Point form upcoming.

- I previously won a complimentary Sunday breakfast at the local footy club. We as a family kept putting it off and putting it off - until we finally said 'Let's go this weekend' - which was last weekend. We had all just gotten dressed when my mum said 'Check the ticket and make sure it hasn't expired'. It had expired that Thursday, three days earlier. My mum said 'Sometimes you are so much like your brothers I worry.'*

*My oldest brother, C, once put his wallet on top of his car to hop in. Then forgot it was on top of the car and drove off. It was found at the top of our street. He used to replace his phone about once every three months for losing it, I don't even want to guess how many replacement credit cards he's had over his life, and can never show up to anything on time. My next brother, R, went off to China at the beginning of the month. He'll be there for about another week, then he's on to England for however long his money lasts. He had two bags - one a carry-on with his passport, visa, paperwork, on-plane amusements, and the other a 22kg suitcase full of clothes. He had two bags. My parents got three quarters of the way to the airport when he noticed he'd forgotten his carry on bag with his ticket. My dad broke a bucketful of traffic laws at 4 in the morning to deliver him to the plane on time.

- I just got back from driving out to Samford to get dog beds for my dog. No one bloody sells hessian bags anywhere anymore.

- I was previously steadfastly avoiding Chikara spoilers for Young Lions Cup. It was not going to be like King Of Trios where I went all of six days before being spoiled. I defriended Chikara on MySpace & Twitter, avoiding chikarafans.com and resolved to wait the three weeks until the DVDs were available. And then I check 411mania.com/wrestling and the main headline on the side was 'BUY OR SELL: ______ as Young Lions Cup Champ' - with _____ filled in with the appropriate name. I was furious. I managed nine days. I chose the winner, though, in my preshow picks.

- Also annoying? The Chikara Yearbook was released almost a month ago. I bought the autographed version. I then misread the follow-up email and thought they were sending them out after their July show, and was therefore expecting it any day now. But no, silly me, it was after Young Lions Cup weekend, last weekend, and now I have at least a week to wait. Dangnabbit.

Firefox history meme: You know how Firefox now pulls up suggestions for you in the address bar as soon as you type a single letter? Go do that now with every letter of the alphabet, and link the first page that comes up for each. You don't have to explain or even comment, but no cheating, even if it's porn/embarrassing!

A: http://abmap.info/ - I am ever so slightly addicted to AlphaBounce.

Go dance. Don't have the horribly awkward moment at your semi-formal when a gang of popular boys come up and urge you to go out on the dancefloor with everyone else.

Also? Listen to the family stories. Especially Pop's. They're always gorgeous and you'll miss them when they stop being told.

The wished-for trip to the US has actually been mentioned out loud. And now I want it all the more.

Research coming on the weekend, regarding hotels around the Reading/South Philly area, plus maybe trains? up and around the East Coast. Washington, Maryland, Vermont? Are those in the same area? How much would a hotel room cost in Philly if I base there for three weeks, leave my stuff there on day- or two-day-trips?

What else is in that area? Museums, history tours. I want to see bare trees. March/April? Either next year or year after. Hope to Gid they still put on King of Trios around that time of year. I want to go big, dammit.

My brother went over to China and onto England with nearly $12k, but he isn't paying for lodging in England, and China is really really cheap, plus he's working in England.

Airfare would be nearly $4k.

I had a ridiculous dream last night where I was actually going on holiday somewhere, and then day of the flight I realised I hadn't told my boss that I wasn't going to be in for work for a week or two. Cue very uncomfortable feeling of 'I'm forgetting something' as soon as I woke up.

Last I heard Nanna's still hanging on in hospital. As Mum put it this morning, "She's alright. Well, she's not alright, but not like last night".

She's my only grandparent left. Last night I felt so horrible, but I don't know if that was just from my dad's unprecedented crying. I didn't even see him, I just heard him. What's the protocol there? Should I go out and hug him? Stay in my bedroom like I did?

This morning I didn't really feel anything, except uncomfortable and unable to breech the subject with Mum. She kinda came out and told me the above at the kitchen sink after she did the dishes.

My mind keeps jumping ahead to the most stupid things, like how to ask the boss for a day off if I want/need/am invited to a funeral. What the hell should I wear to a funeral, anyway? I have two black dressy tops, one of which doesn't properly fit anymore and the other one I need to wear with an undershirt to stop the cleavage going nuts. WTF is that?

I envy people that can say they 'feel sad' or 'feel angry' or whatever. I don't think I've got that 'diagnosis of feelings' button. I just feel...kinda sick. My stomach's all twisty and I feel on the edge of crying every so often. This sucks.

My nan's been in hospital for nearly two weeks after an operation to fix a twisted bowel problem. The hospital's just phoned to say she's going downhill rapidly and mum & dad should go up there now.

My dad's crying outside in the hallway. I don't know what to do.

I'm watching Chikara's Tag World Grand Prix 2006 Night 3, and man, this ten-man tag is ridiculous. It's like Team Charisma (Heartbreak Express & Jagged & Shane Matthews & Larry Sweeney) v Team Gimmick (Dragon Dragon & Retail Dragon & Player Uno & Sexxxy Eddy & Max Boyer). It's just fun.

Dragons. Because apparently there's a new species out and a few hours ago I had seven hatchlings so couldn't get any more. Edited to add my new ones as the others grew up.

* *

It's really fucking stupid to still be sad over my Mazda.

I hate this new car, I hate that I have to go foot-to-the-floor to hit 60k, I hate the low ceiling, I hate the high backseats, I hate the fucking bucket seats, I hate that I needed to buy carseat covers to even be able to get in and out of the driver's seat, I hate the fact that it doesn't have a sunroof, I hate that there's no boot so it always looks like the person behind is about to rear end me, I hate that the accelerator pedal squeaks, I hate the squeal when I turn too sharp, I hate that there's no revs-per-minute indicator, I miss my double-storage glove box, I miss the storage box under the passenger seats...

I hate needing to remember a new rego. I hate the layout of the engine. I hate the fucking cream colour of it.

And I hate that even if I got a new car, I'd still hate all these things.

So it appears I may have bronchitis.

I've had this cough for at least four weeks - started before swine flu came to Australia. It's exactly the same as one I had last year about this time; that time it lasted nearly two months. I then got a cold on top of it (thanks Dad) and after the cold somewhat settled I went to the quack.

All he could tell me is that it wasn't pneumonia, didn't sound like asthma, and was probably bronchitis. Thanks quack.

Prescribed Amoxycillin Sandoz (substituted for Amoxil) which is a penicillin antibiotic for chest infections.

Today I coughed up the first bloody phlegm I've had in a while.

According to Wikipedia, it comes in acute and chronic. The fact that I've had it twice, both reaching towards or past a month's duration, points me to chronic. Fucking fabulous.

Main point for chronic bronchitis? Smoking.

I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. Yet my parents both smoked since I was a kid*, my brothers have both smoked since they were legal, and I always thought it'd be cancer that would kill me.

*My second-earliest memory is being about four years old and pestering my mum. Got too close to her cigarette and burnt myself on my right ring finger, which it still there to this day.

I should have known yesterday would be a washout when in the morning I dropped my septum retainer down the shower drain, didn't have time to put on moisturizer, then got rained on getting the mail, all while dealing with bringing up yellow phlegm.

Yesterday afternoon my dad picked me up from work after dealing with miscellaneous new-car stuff - turning in the old numberplates of my old car, the old numberplates of my new car, registering the new car in my name, etc. What ensued was a conversation about how Mum & Dad have been shielding us like we're still kids - I have done nothing, for example, about this new car. This was entirely not of my choice - my dad pretty much barreled ahead and lined up this car.

I suppose I could/should have spoken up more about looking in the paper/used car lots, but in what time frame? I work fulltime, the only time I have spare is the weekends, and he had this lined up two days after the accident. After changing registrations yesterday he didn't even wait for me to get compulsive third party on it - he went with Suncorp, when everything else I have is RACQ. I would have much preferred to keep it that way, instead of having my third party liability with RACQ, free2go membership (kinda an extra breakdown service for teenagers) with RACQ, then CTP with Suncorp.

Anyway - last night I called RACQ to switch the third party liability from the Mazda to the Holden Nova, get my free2go switched too, and that's like the most adult thing I've ever done. I have never had a bill in my own name, excepting my car, and I'm still so far cuddled in the security blanket of my parents that I don't even know what this spectre of adulthood means.

Anyway. The Holden Nova's from 1989 - same year as the Mazda - and I drove it for the first time today. It hasn't got the Turbo that Spencer had, so it's ridiculously hard to get speed up. Pedal to the floor to get up to 60k. Also - no sunroof. Which is a stupid thing to be upset about, seeing as the Mazda sunroof leaked and therefore I wasn't allowed to open it, but it's just one more thing that I miss. It's touchier with steering, but somehow harder to direct at the same time.

It's like pushing a rhino. Which is why I think I'll be naming this one Dominic.
