The trip is ~$6000, with spending money and a Contiki tour.
All the niftyness of seeing the Carolinas and Washington, maybe snow, New York - what it boils down to is 'I'm taking this trip to see a three-night pro wrestling tournament'. And there's just so much of people around me not seeing that as a viable reason that I'm not finding good rebuttals to their comments or, even worse, to the tone they have when saying 'wrestling'.
No, Mum, I can't wait until they come to Australia, because they're never coming to Australia. They've been in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Germany, and that's because Quack worked for WXW in Germany. What would you prefer I spent my money on, a car? But I already have a car. To you, girl at work - I don't take holidays every six months to Bali or Fiji, so yes, I do have some money saved up. And it's mine, and I can do what I want with it. So screw you.
Tuesday I got a quote itinerary from a travel agents with abovementioned ~$6000, which is flight to Los Angeles then to Philadelphia, three nights in Philly, flight to New Orleans, Contiki tour from NO to Florida & through Carolinas & up to New York, one extra night in New York, then flight home. Nearly three weeks.
Tomorrow I do more research online on flights, and then whether the Contiki tour is actually worth it and if I can't just do day trips to maybe New York, Maryland, maybe Connecticut. Because I know for a fact I found better deals on hotel rooms when mucking around, and Florida sounds a little too much like Queensland for having a real holiday.
