So. Read HP:HBP last night. Couldn't put out a LJ entry any sooner, 'cause of computer problems and work, but
My first major squee is TONKS/LUPIN! Fuck yeah! And when they get up to HP: OotP, I hope they get a bitchin' actress to play Tonks. Cause Tonks rules.
And we have Harry/Ginny, which is nice.
I wish JK had gone into a bit more detail about Harry and the Dursleys, and fallout from the Order's little chat back at the end of OotP.
And Dumbledore's dead. Oh well.
Did anyone guess Snape as the HBP? 'Cause I'll shout you a virtual Sprite.
And fuck yeah, Snape's an evil bastard but Draco's not really. How fucking cool is that?
...unfortunately something about this book makes it the worst of the series to date. I felt disappointed when I saw that in hardcover, this one was smaller than the first one in paperback. And something about it just didn't stick well with me...as I read it, I liked it, but if the whole series had been written like this I don't think I would have bothered buying the third book.
It feels like JK decided that "Hey! Harry's sixteen now and he should like girls and not just Cho, and shouldn't give a damn, and I won't give any details at all."
Many apologies for the rampant swearing. I'm a little excited; it's the first book since Colin Theile's Fire in the Stone that got me moved to tears.
